About the living history group 276th Sqdn. (reenacted) RAF, o.s.
Our group of the Czechoslovakian RAF and WAAF enthusiasts is based in the country of theirs origin, in the Czech Republic.
Our goal is remmember all Czechoslovakian (and not only) RAF and WAAF members to all people, who are interested, via displays during air show, our website, exhibition and research.
During airhows and similar events, we offer to public not only "field camp" of the RAF, but "museum exposition" of equipment used in the RAF and WAAF with our
comment. We want show all the best to public, that we are doing research in equipment used by RAF and WAAF members and extending our collections with relations to immpression and "character" (air gunner, pilot) of main part of our members.
Why we are 276th Sqdn.:
Despite the fact, that 276th Sqdn. really exists in the RAF, the name of our society has origin in the best movie about Czech and Slovak airmen in the RAF, which has been ever made, named "The Sky Riders".
Main characters from this movie were members of the 276th Bomber Sqdn., in which were enlisted airmen from many nations - that as you can see, it was a nonexistent unit.
Because some members of our society are interested in bomber crew and some in fighter pilots, we can´t choose real fighter or bomber squadron and of course we will commemorate our veterans from the whole RAF.
Because women took great part in the Royal Air Force during WW2 as WAAF, our members are portray and remember WAAF too.
Our badge.
The badge of the 276th Sqdn. (reenacted) RAF: In the middle of the badge is the Czech lion in one of our nation colors - red. The motto means - we are interested in living history as remembrance of honor of our veterans and we
want say - we don´t forget you (For them),
we are interested in the RAF, but we wouldn´t do it as individuals and we would like do it as best as possible and of course,
and we enjoy living history too (For us) and we are interested in reenacting of the RAF, because we will preserve this part of history for future (For you).
